I've moved, of course
Mood:  d'oh

In case that you happen to land in here... it's not that I haven't touched my blog in 3.5 years. I moved it to Live from Waterloo (http://lfwaterloo.blogspot.com).

You might think that anybody with a brain would have left a message here. But no...

Velez
Mood:  celebratory

We were in a celebratory mood last Sunday, as our soccer team (Velez Sarsfield) won the Argentine league. In the picture, me, Juan and Santiago.

Velez 2 - Boca 0
Mood:  happy
Here's a cute picture from when Velez Sarsfield (my team, and also Santiago's and Florencia's) beat Boca Juniors (Juan's team) 2-0.
We watched the game on TV, and had an Argentine soccer afternoon (drinking mate, singing songs, etc)

Soccer news
Mood:  happy
The indoor season finished last week. And here are the results:
* Santiago's team ended 6th; they did very poorly in the play-offs, after a more than acceptable regular season.
* Carolina's team ended 4th, after barely losing the first game of the play-offs.
* Juan's team won the championship, which was more than surprising, considering that they hadn't won any games until three weeks before the play-offs. But they did extremely well. Juan scored one goal on each of the last two play-off games, and played goalie in the final game, which they won 3-0. He even stopped a penalty kick that day!. There's a couple of pictures below.

The sleep clinic...
Mood:  down
I went to the sleep clinic last Saturday night. It was interesting. I had a whole bunch of wires coming out of my head, chest and legs, so it was kinda difficult to fall asleep, or to even rest comfortably.

I was waken up several times during the night, either because one of the cables was loose, or because the equipment I was 'connected' to would beep very loudly. I don't know why it did that, I guess that it was because I stopped breathing. I don't remember snoring, but I better not ask...

I have to go back this Friday, but this time I'm going to wear a mask -which sends a constant flow of air to prevent my 'air ducts' from closing- on top of all the wires. I'm pretty sure about the outcome of these two appointments: I will be told to sleep with the mask from now on. I don't care too much, as long as it's not too uncomfortable and its humming doesn't bother Gaby...

Another concert...
Mood:  surprised
I sang again last Sunday, at Trinity United Church, in Kitchener. It was a mini-concert, consisting of songs from the '40s, like "Some enchanted evening", "If I loved you", "You'll never walk alone" and "Red roses for a blue lady".

I have to say that it went quite well, probably beyond my own expectations. The funny thing is that it seems that I made some people cry. Everyone in the audience seemed to have some fond memories involving one of the songs I sang.

It was a good experience. Just my second concert as a soloist (after all these years!), and it couldn't have been for a nicer audience.

I didn't sign any autographs, though. :-)
